Democracy: Its Origin and Purpose |

Democracy: The Various Forms of Counterrevolution Jefferson warned us that power mongers in the generations following his generation would have to develop "substitute" forms of tyranny as he called them, because he and his co-revolutionaries had "exploded the myth of hereditary magistracies." He did not know the specific forms that the future "substitute" forms of tyranny would take, but he said, "This our children, or grandchildren will answer." Marxist-Leninists were not the only ones to develop a "substitute" form of tyranny. Nor was Marxism-Leninism the only form of counterrevolution. Since its beginning the democratic world movement has been under constant and unrelenting attack. Counterrevolutionaries of every kind and stripe have organized and repeatedly attacked it with the purpose of destroying it. Hitler, Tojo, Mussolini, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Kim II Sung, Ho Chi Minh, Osama bin Laden, Tito, Sadam Hussein, Milosevic and Fidel Castro are just a few of the better known counterrevolutionaries. All of them crushed democracy wherever they found it. All of them have worked, and some of them are still working to develop "substitute" forms of tyranny. To cite a few examples, the various forces of counterrevolution closed down the Duma in Russia, overthrew the Weimar Republic in Germany, assassinated leaders of the Diet in Japan and marched on Rome and dispersed all political opposition and most recently destroyed the World Trade Center. They have imprisoned, persecuted, and murdered democratic activists by the millions, all throughout the world. One of the strongest forms of counterrevolution was the world communist movement. Since its goal was to conquer the world it necessarily would have to destroy the democratic world movement. Preventing the democratic world movement from reaching its goal-that was the mindset and mentality behind the communist world movement. Counterrevolutionaries have never understood the true direction in which human history is moving. False teachers have continually beclouded their minds. It is doubtful if any of the millions of counterrevolutionaries ever understood Lincoln's statement that "Revolution is a right which we hope and believe will liberate the world." Lincoln was talking about our revolution, the democratic revolution, but counterrevolutionaries have never listened to Lincoln or Jefferson. "The liberty of the whole earth" and "the freedom of the globe" is how Jefferson described where the democratic world movement would take us. The "universal liberty of mankind," and "the liberation of the world" were the phrases Lincoln used to describe the ultimate phase of the democratic world movement. All during the last two hundred years the counterrevolutionaries have been waging a losing battle. That is because the democratic world movement is the single most powerful social movement in all of human history. That is so because it is going to bring freedom to the entire human race. Nothing is going to stop it from reaching its goal. We are now in the final stages of the democratic world movement. The counterrevolutionaries are dwindling in numbers and in strength. Is it possible that the conflict between two contradictory opposing historical forces that has lasted all these years is to be finally resolved? Next: Democracy: The Origin of Democracy » |
