Democracy: The Creator's Involvement When democracy comes into a nation right along with it comes the Creator's principle of equality. The two are inseparable. Is there some connection between the ongoing process of world democratization and the belief by many that God has a plan for the development of the human race? This whole question of whether or not God has a plan for the human race is problematical because no one knows specifically what that plan is. God hasn't told anyone what His plan is. But if God has a plan for the human race then gradually, over the years as the plan unfolds we are going to figure out what's going on. God doesn't give anyone a road map — He lets us figure things out ourselves, and He has given us the capability to do just that. And if all those history changing events begin moving in the same direction, toward the same goal, then we ought to look more closely at those events to see what, if any, God's involvement in them may be. Without a doubt the democratic world movement has been underway now for more than two hundred years and without a doubt we are moving toward worldwide freedom. So then, would it be unreasonable to inquire whether or not the democratic world movement is somehow connected to God's plan for the human race? Or could we go so far as to say that the democratic world movement is a very important part of God's plan for the human race? First and foremost, any worldwide movement that in any way claims to be associated with God has to advance His principle, the principle He authored. But the democratic world movement certainly does that. The entire movement is based upon the principle He authored. The connection here is quite close. It is difficult to see how it could be closer. Apparently then, the democratic world movement passes the first test. Secondly, any movement that claims in any way to be connected with the Creator has to encompass the entire human race. Any plan that God has for the human race has to include all His children. But it was Jefferson and Lincoln that included every human being within the democratic world movement. They said freedom is to cover the globe. So the democratic world movement has the widest dimensions possible and if God is somehow implementing His plan through the democratic world movement then it is reasonable to assume He is comfortable with and agrees with the dimensions that Jefferson and Lincoln established for our movement. Apparently then the democratic world movement passes the second test. The final test is whether or not God has decided that the movement toward worldwide freedom will succeed in reaching its goal. Has He made that decision yet? He has. He made that decision when He decided He wanted the world democratized. If the Creator endowed every person on earth with equal rights as the American Declaration of Independence has declared, may we then suppose that a broad social movement which seeks to establish those rights in every country in the world has His favor?
